This interactive dashboard presents a comprehensive analysis of 12,564 research papers published in the AIS Basket of Eight premier Information Systems journals from 1977 to 2026.
Using advanced hybrid clustering techniques combining topic modeling (BERTopic) and hierarchical clustering (Agglomerative), we identified 8 major research streams, 48 detailed subtopics, and 182 granular micro-topics that cover 8,110 papers (64.5% of the corpus).

Data Source: Papers and citation data were collected from OpenAlex (originally sourced from Crossref, Microsoft Academic Graph, and other scholarly databases).
This research employed a rigorous multi-stage analytical approach:
Comprehensive retrieval of all papers from the AIS Basket of Eight journals using OpenAlex API, including metadata, abstracts, and citation information.
BERTopic with MPNet embeddings for semantic representation of papers, capturing nuanced relationships in research topics.
Three-level agglomerative clustering to organize topics into streams (L1), subtopics (L2), and micro-topics (L3).
Cluster labels and themes reviewed and refined by domain experts in Information Systems research.
Navigate through the 3-level hierarchy: click on L1 streams to see L2 subtopics, then drill down to L3 micro-topics to discover specific research areas.
Use full-text search to find papers by title, abstract, or keywords. Apply advanced filters for year range, citation threshold, and specific journals.
Visit the Trends tab to see temporal evolution charts, identify emerging topics, track journal contributions, and discover publication patterns over 49 years.
Export any paper list to CSV (spreadsheet analysis), BibTeX (reference management), or JSON (programmatic access). All exports include complete metadata.
